Housing
The high-quality aluminum housing is turned and milled from solid on CNC machines with a brushed and anodized surface in black or natural aluminum. To prevent fogging, the housing features a vent valve with Gore membrane. The sight glass of the instrument is made of a scratch-resistant special plastic. Due to the 80 mm/ 3.15" diameter, original instruments can often be exchanged very easily.
Analog display with pointer and LC display
For optimal readability, the speed is shown by a red pointer on a white dial. With the innovative, full-surface backlighting, the maximum area is used for the dial. When the instrument is switched off, no warning icons are visible. Easily adjustable transmission settings and pointer damping enable precise and jitter-free speed indication by the stepper motor. The illuminated LC display is very easy to read even in direct sunlight. Four ultra-bright control LEDs complete the instrument. The red LED functions as a warning lamp when speed limit values are entered, temperatures (min./max.), pressure measurement (min./max.), on-board voltage as well as for the oil pressure switch or similar existing sensors. Different warning functions are indicated by different flashing or continuous lights.
Installation
Due to the standard diameter, the instrument is easy to install on many motorcycles. We also offer different mounting options.
Connection and sensorsThe connection cable has a length of approx. 55 cm / 2.17" and the connector plugs are ready for install. For the bike side connection, the corresponding counterparts are supplied. The input for the RPM measurement is easily connected to the ignition coil or ignition box. The included stainless steel speedometer sensor is small (M5/22 mm) and with the 1.5 m /59" long connection cable can be easily attached to the front or rear wheel. Optional: suitable sensors for the measurement of air, oil or water temperatures and oil pressure are offered a under Accessories.
Operation
With the supplied menu button or to the light/horn button, one can switch between the displays of the LCD. The first line of the display permanantly shows the speed. Further measured values can be displayed by the push of a button switch - sold separately. Settings or stored values are retained and stored even without power supply. For the menu button, we recommend purchasing the pushbutton kit or a pushbutton mini (see Pushbuttons/Handles).
