Housing
The high-quality housing, milled from billet aluminum with its surface anodized black, protects the electronics completely against weather, water, dust and vibration.
Display and functions
The innovative dot matrix of 251 ultra-bright LEDs displays the speed by means of a scalable, horizontal light band with all other functions displayed as numerical values. If you prefer, the speed can also be shown as a numerical value at the push of a button. The brightness of the LEDs are adjusted automatically to achieve optimum readability in darkness, sunlight and twilight. To show the limits for the RPMs ('red range') or as a switching flash function, a speed value can be entered and when exceeded, causes all LEDs to repeatedly flash at the same time.
Special feature: the display of the motoscope mini can show the numerical values not only from left to right, but also from top to bottom. Therefore, allowing the instrument to be mounted upright!
Operation
With the supplied menu button or to the light/horn button, one can switch between the displays. The standard display is the speed value, but all other measured values can be shown on the display by a short push on the button. Optionally, the display can be set to return automatically to the speed value after a short time or a specific display of choice can be fixed. Presets or stored values remain saved even without a power supply.
Mounting
Due to its very small dimensions, the motoscope mini can be easily mounted almost anywhere on any vehicle. Stand alone on the fork bridge or handlebars, into existing instrument panels, recessed in the tank or GFK - the instrument can be integrated almost anywhere. We offer universal mounting brackets, as well as type-specific solutions.
Connection and sensors
Even if you aren't familiar with vehicle electrics, the simple wiring connection makes installation possible. The supplied stainless steel tachometer sensor is very small (M5/25 mm) and with the 1.5 m / 59" long connection cable, it can be easily attached to the front or rear wheel. Also bikes with the original mechanical speedometers can be easily converted to it - the motoscope mini is compatible with many original equipment manufacturer's speedometer sensors (reed contact and proximity sensors). In these cases, only connections are needed and the mechanical installation of a sensor is no longer necessary. An intelligent 'teach function' enables the simple calibration of the tachometer - even for bikes with sensors on the transmission.
